Marquette – Original artwork is being sought for the annual Blueberry Festival to be held on Friday, July 24 in downtown Marquette.
Area residents of all ages and skill levels are encouraged to submit their work for a Poster Contest. The winning design will be reproduced as a full-color, limited edition 10 inch by 13 inch poster.
Original artwork of any medium is welcome, but should not exceed 11 inches by 17 inches and must not have been previously reproduced.
The winner will receive $150 Downtown Dollars, a framed poster recognizing the artist for their winning entry, and 10 additional posters. The winning poster will debut prior to the Blueberry Festival.
All submitted artwork will be displayed at the Marquette Arts and Culture Center at the Peter White Public Library throughout July.
Entry deadline is Friday, May 15 and should be delivered or to the Downtown Development Authority, 203 S. Front Street in Marquette. For a complete list of rules, call 228-9475 or 228-6213.
