Northern Michigan University will host several events for Sexual Awareness Week. All events are free and open to the public. A campus march to “walk a mile” in a survivor's shoes will begin at 4 p.m. on Monday, April 9 in the Brule Room of the University Center. A discussion led by the Women's Center will be held in the Gant/Spaulding Hall following the march. Male participants are asked to wear high heels to walk a mile in women's shoes. Women are invited to the rape self defense session at 7 p.m. in the Gant/Spaulding basement. The event is sponsored by the NMU Public Safety and Police Services, the Health Promotions office and Wildcat peer educators.
