Marquette, Mich. – 05/12/2018– The River Valley Bank “Hope Starts Here” Challenge (raising awareness for the Upper Michigan Brain Tumor Center) will be held May 12 at various different starting locations. Packet pickup for registration and details is on Friday, May 11th, from 4:00- 7:00 p.m. at Lakeview Arena in Marquette.
The UMBTC’s is a collaborative effort between UP Health System, Northern Michigan University, and the Superior Health Foundation. Their mission is to empower patients and families dealing with brain tumors through advocacy, research, education, and treatment.
This year’s options for participants are:
- a half marathon
- a duathlon that consists of a 5k run, 10-mile trail bike ride and a 5k run
- a 10k run
- a 5k run
- a 1-mile kids’ run
- and a non-competitive leisure walk.
All competitive events have chip timing, handled by Superior Timing.
