Lake Effect Amateur Radio Club will be demonstrating Amateur Radio on Saturday, June 23 at Peter White Public Library in Marquette. There are 660,000 amateur radio operators in the U.S. and more than 2.5 million around the world. There are 1,400 licensed operators in the U.P. Ham volunteers provide emergency communications for the Homeland Security Citizens' Corps, the American Red Cross, the Salvation Army, FEMA, and many other state and local agencies, all for free.
