The Cliff Shaft Mine Museum opens Tuesday, June 5 for the season. It will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Saturdays, with a nominal admission. Two new displays this year will be the L.S.I. Railroad equipment and a logging display. The L.S.I. display will show the different railroad equipment that has been or is being used by the railroad. The logging display will depict what was used by the loggers both by hand and power. The historical Dry Building located outside will provide the visitor views of miners past and present, headgear and other safety equipment available to miners of yesteryear, displays on blasting and diamond drilling equipment, various types of communication available to the miners and much more. Don't forget your camera so that you can have a momento of your visit standing inside the 30 ton shovel bucket in front of the Dry building or in front of the 170-ton Iron Ore truck.
