Marquette – Information on the Marquette Welfare Club and its support of the women's suffrage movement will be featured during “Inside the Museum, From Petticoats to Pantsuits” on Thursday, march 19 at 7 p.m. at the Marquette County History Museum.
In honor of Women's History Month, Jo DeYoung, Rosemary Michelin and Sally Closser will use artifacts, photographs, scrapbooks and letters to tell the stories of five Marquette County women who were artists, teachers, authors, suffragists, nurses and politicians, including Abby Longyear Roberts, Carroll Watson Rankin, Grace Spalding, Elba Morse and Geraldine DeFant.
