The Northern Center for Lifelong Learning will offer a presentation and field trip from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Thursday, September 20 to learn about the Marquette Iron Range strata formation. The event will begin in Cohodas Room 416 at Northern Michigan University with a presentation by retired geologist John Klasner. Printed materials will be provided. Attendees should wear hiking attire and bring a sack lunch and a beverage for lunch in the field. The class will include strenuous walking, so a hiking stick is recommended. Cost is $4 for NCLL members, $7 for others. Advance registration is requested by Friday, September 14. Call Marge Forslin at 869-4791.
