Marquette – The Northern Center for Lifelong Learning will sponsor a program on traveling through Alaska via four different modes of transportation on Tuesday, March 19 from 7 to 9 p.m. in Room 101B of the Superior Dome.
World traveler and researcher Carol Margrif will discuss mixing land stops with cruising the inside passage from Juneau to Ketchikan on a 52-passenger ship. A slide presentation will include the University of Alaska at Fairbanks musk ox and reindeer research farm, a morning Tanana and Chena Rivers paddle wheel cruise, a railroad and Denali National Park tour of wildlife, sights in Anchorage, Juneau and Ketchikan, glaciers calving icebergs and whale watching.
Cost is $4 for NCLL members, $7 for others. Registration deadline is Friday, March 13. Call Lorana Jinkerson at 226-6210 to register.
