Visiting Artist Suellen Parker will give a talk on Thursday, February 18 at 8:30 p.m. in room AD 165 at NMU. Suellen uses a mixture of sculpture, photography and digital manipulation to explore the fragile frontier that divides realty from illusion. Using figures modeled out of plasteline clay tht never dries, Parker forms model's features and photographs them. Further manipulating the images digitally, the end results are images reminiscent of children's books which allows the characters to fully come to life in the viewer's imagination. The event is free and open to the public.
