A Dominican Benefit Dinner will be held on Saturday, January 12 from 5 to 9 p.m. at the First Baptist Church, 728 W. Kaye Avenue in Marquette. Donations will be accepted at the door to benefit Heart Care Dominicana, a non-profit organization of health care professionals that delivers high quality, compassionate medical and surgical care to children with life-threatening heart diseases in the Dominican Republic. The buffet is being prepared by Emmanuel and Tracy Feliz, Roy and Judy Sarosik, Sara Johnson, Joe's Cakes, Patrick Reilly and the MSHS Spanish Club. On the menu is: tossed salad with tropical dressing, avacado salad with red onions, Caribbean white rice, stewed pigeon peas, Roy's pork, creole chicken, country style eggplant, fried plantains, tropical fruit salad, Caribbean-style cake and flan, fruit punch, Dominican coffee and ginger hot chocolate.
