Cold War Film Series Continues January 30th

Marquette, Michigan – The Beaumier U.P. Heritage Center at Northern Michigan University will continue its Cold War film series with a showing of Nine Days in One Year at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 30. The film is being screened in conjunction with the Beaumier Center’s “Cold War in the U.P.” exhibition. A discussion with Beaumier Center Director Daniel Truckey will follow.

This 1962 Soviet film follows two nuclear scientists, Dmitry Gusev and Ilya Kulikov, through their lives as rivals in love. After an important discovery, Gusev becomes ill from radiation exposure and struggles to stay alive.

Popcorn will be available for purchase. The center’s Cold War exhibition will be open for the evening. For more information, contact the Beaumier Center at 227-3212 or heritage@nmu.edu.
