A Finnish Independence Day Celebration will be held on Sunday, December 2 from 1 to 5 p.m. at the Masonic Center in downtown Marquette. The League of Finnish American Societies, U.P. Chapter, will celebrate the 90th anniversary of Finland's independence with a lunch, program, and dance. Festivities are open to all and begin with the lunch at 1 p.m. Dr. Philip Johnson, President of Finlandia University, will be the featured speaker for the program. The Backwoods Boys will provide music for the dance from 3 to 5 p.m. Tickets are $10 or $5 for the dance only. For more information, call 226-7085.
