The Central Upper Peninsula Chapter of the Sierra Club will meet on Tuesday, November 27 at 7 p.m. in the Community Room of the Peter White Public Library. The topic of the meeting will be “Looking Beyond Kennecott — Mining Across the U.P.” Marvin Roberson, Sierra Club staff member who served on the task force that drafted Michigan’s new mining legislation, will talk about where mines have been proposed, what environmental risks they present, and what the public can do about it.
