The Forest Roberts Theatre at Northern Michigan University will conduct community-wide auditions for the Broadway musical , “The Full Monty.” Tryouts will be held on Saturday, November 17 at noon in the Black Box Theatre and at 7 p.m. Sunday, November 18 in Forest Roberts. Callbacks will be at 7 p.m. Monday, November 19 at Forest Roberts. Auditioners should prepare a 60- to 90-second song cutting from contemporary musical theater or the pop music charts. Songs from “The Full Monty” are welcome. The show calls for a cast of 13 men and eight women, plus extras. All actors and singers should be prepared to dance and should bring clothing to change into for movement and dance. A pre-teen or teenage boy who can pass for 12 or 13 years old is also needed, several mature actors for the role of Jeanette and Harold, and an African American actor for the role of Horse. Choreographer Shannon Franz is looking for “guys willing to take risks” and a dancer who can pass for a Chippendales-type male stripper. “The Full Monty” will run February 20 through 23 at 7:30 p.m., with a 1 p.m. matinee on February 23. “The Full Monty” is rated “R” for strong language and adult situations
