Free Tax Assistance for Seniors will be offered on Wednesday, April 9 from 8:30 to noon at the Ishpeming Senior Center, 320 S. Pine Street in Ishpeming. Volunteer tax assisters through the Tax Counseling for the Elderly program, sponsored by the IRS will help with federal, state and local tax credit forms, including the Homestead Property Tax Credit and Home Heating Tax Credit.
Call 485-5527 for an appointment. Bring with you to your appointment this year's tax package, wage and earning statements, interest statements, a copy of last year's return, and any other relevant information concerning income and expenses needed to file federal, state, and local tax forms.
Home visits to assist homebound seniors are available. Free tax assistance will be offered every Tuesday and Wednesday through April 15.
