Calendar – Education – Bards and Brews Event – Nov. 16

Marquette – The Northern Michigan University English department will host “An Unquieting: Power, Violence and Narratives That Refuse to Stay Silent” on Thursday, November 16 from 7 to 8 p.m. at the Ore Dock Brewing Company in downtown Marquette.

November’s reading will feature two writers. NMU assistant professor of English Rachel May will read selections from her creative non-fiction book “An American Quilt: Unfolding a Story of Family and Slavery”. Washington-based poet Caitlin Scarano will read from her collection of poems, “Do Not Bring Him Water”, which was released in Fall 2017.

This free event is part of the Bards & Brews creative reading series held the third Thursday of each month.
