Superior Arts Youth Theater Presents “Shrek The Musical Jr.” November 16th-19th

Marquette, MI (October 19, 2017) – Superior Arts Youth Theater presents Shrek The Musical Jr., where beauty is in the eye of everyone’s favorite ogre, Shrek as he leads a cast of fairytale misfits on an adventure to rescue a princess and find true acceptance. Directed by Jalina McClain with assistants Caitlin Palomaki & Nicholas Conroy. Choreography by Jill Grundstrom & Taylor Koski, and Music Direction by Jeff Bruning. The play will run November 16 – 19 at the Forest Roberts Theatre; tickets are on sale now at tickets.nmu.edu, (906) 227-1032, and at any NMU ticketing outlet.

About Shrek: In a far away swamp, ogre Shrek’s peace and quiet was shattered by an invasion of fairy tale characters. After finding out that they were banished from their kingdom by the evil Lord Farquaad, Shrek sets off with a wisecracking donkey to confront Farquaad, and he’s handed a task – if he rescues feisty princess Fiona, his swamp will be righted. With the rescue under way the Princess sheds light on a deep, dark secret that will change the “Happily Ever After” for Shrek’s village forever.

SAYT’s 8th grade and under production of Shrek includes 63 youth performers.
