Marquette – The Northern Michigan University music department will present a screening of “Dido and Aeneas”, performed by the Royal Opera and Royal Ballet in London, on Sunday, October 15 at 5 p.m. at the Forest Roberts Theatre on the campus of NMU.
“Dido and Aeneas” is an opera that tells the tale of the queen of Carthage, Dido, and Aeneas, a Trojan refugee prince. When Aeneas and his crew become shipwrecked in Carthage, he and the queen fall in love. In the meantime, witches plot Dido’s destruction.
Admission is $10 for adults and free for anyone under 18, along with NMU students, faculty and staff with ID.
