Gwinn – A spaghetti dinner benefit for Kelly Girard will be held on Saturday, June 24 from 1 to 6 p.m. at Gwinn High School, 50 West M35 in Gwinn.
This benefit includes a spaghetti dinner, basket raffle, and a bake sale. Tickets are $7 for adults, $5 for children, $20 for a family (2 adults & 2 children) and free for children 5 & under.
Kelly Girard is a charismatic, outdoor-loving husband and father. About two months ago his life changed forever. Kelly was diagnosed with pulmonary fibrosis, hypertension, and COPD. He is currently awaiting a bilateral lung transplant. Kelly will undergo the transplant surgery at the University of Minnesota. After recovering from the surgery and being released, Kelly and his wife, Judy (a long time Gwinn teacher), are required to live within 15 minutes of the hospital for at least 3 months. The benefit is to raise funds to help alleviate some of the financial burden placed on the Girard Family.
