Marquette – The Marquette Regional History Center will present the Special Exhibit “Kissing the Water: The Lure and the Lore of Fly Fishing” from June 24 through September 16. An opening reception will be held on Thursday, June 29 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the MRHC, 145 W. Spring Street in Marquette.
There is magic involved in fly fishing. See how this sport captures art, philosophy, literature and environmental concerns. From handmade rods and flies, to the work of John Voelker, fly fishing has a rich history in this region. There will be numerous special events relating to this Special Exhibition, including a “Fish Painting” workshop with Liz Yelland, and the MRHC gift store will be selling work by featured Artist Derek DeYoung, Yooper Shirts and more.
