Forest Roberts Theatre Hosts Battle of the Bands – 4/22/17

Marquette, MIApril 21, 2017 – Northern Michigan University’s Forest Roberts Theatre is holding its first Battle of the Bands at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, April 22. Seven Upper Peninsula bands will compete for a cash prize. Forest Roberts Theatre and Double Trouble Entertainment are producing the event as a way to promote and showcase regional music.

The bands competing are Now Society Fails, The Portraits, White Knuckle Slave, Heel Click, Unhushed Grace, Our Last Vision, and Lumi. In addition to watching the performances, attendees can purchase raffle tickets for items including gift certificates and a $500 scholarship. All items have been donated by local businesses.

Students enrolled in the entertainment technology class are using the event as an applied service project.

“From acquiring sponsorships to setting up equipment, these students are able to take things they learn in the classroom and apply them to a real world situation,” said Professor David Pierce.
