Marquette – The Bothwell Middle School Percussion Ensemble will present a concert on Wednesday April 19 at 7 p.m. at Kaufman Auditorium in Marquette.
The ensemble consists of eight dedicated middle school percussionists who will be performing on a stage filled with an array of instruments: marimbas, xylophones, timpani, bongos, triangles, cowbells, congas, timbales, Chinese toms, concert toms and roto-toms. There will even be a water gong and brake drums from a car. The concert will explore the musical sounds of Japanese Taiko drumming, Latin American pop, improvisation and the ever popular Khachaturian’s Russian Sabre Dance.
This is a family friendly concert suitable for all ages. Admission is $7 per person, $15 per family and Senior Citizens are free. The percussion ensemble is under the direction of Carrie Biolo and Emily Morgan-Booth. For more information call 361-4082.
