North Star Academy, 3030 Wright Street in Marquette, will host an Empty Bowls Luncheon on Monday, February 25 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The cost is $10, which includes a soup lunch and a handmade bowl created by North Star Academy High School and Polaris Middle School students. The bowls symbolize the unfortunate people around the world who are unable to feed themselves. Proceeds from the luncheon will be donated to needy school children in Thailand to help purchase shoes, uniforms and school supplies, and will also help fund school lunch meals for two schools in Thailand. Tickets will be available at the school and also at the Rice Paddy, 1720 Presque Isle, Marquette. Tickets will also be available at the door.
