Grand Marais UP 200 Checkpoint Activities Feb. 16

A variety of activities will be happening in Grand Marais, a checkpoint in the U.P. 200, on Saturday, February 16. Breakfast will be served from 7:30 to 11 a.m. featuring sausage gravy and biscuits, muffins, coffee and tea. A bake sale, sponsored by the Methodist Church, will be held beginning at 8 a.m. A silent auction with a variety of great items will run from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Soup and sandwiches will be served by the Women&#39s Club, with free refills on soup, from 11 a.m. until evening. There will also be sloppy joes, pulled pork, hot dogs and baked goods. Free movies for kids of all ages will be shown: “Balto” will be shown at 12:30 p.m. and “Iron Will” will be shown at 3 p.m. Poster contest entries will be on display all day. All activities are in the Rec Center. Make sure you visit the Dog Lot to see the teams and take pictures and catch the action at the checkpoint gate as the teams arrive… it will be a fun day in Grand Marais.
