Marquette – Celebrate the season at the Holiday Open House on Saturday, December 3 from 3 to 5 p.m. throughout the Peter White Public Library. Enjoy tasty treats and stroll through the 2016 Winter Wonderland Walk display of trees and wreaths decorated by Marquette area community members, families, and organizations. Over 65 trees and wreaths will be displayed on all floors of the building.
During the open house, the youth services department will host a make and take holiday craft opportunity and offer stories being read aloud by the tree. All ages are welcome drop in. Children under the age of five must be accompanied by an adult.
Visitors will be able to “vote” for their favorite tree or wreath. “Ballots” will be available for purchase at the circulation desk for a tax deductible gift of $1 each with no limit to the number of times a person can “vote.” Proceeds from the ballot “sales” will benefit the Peter White Public Library Development Fund, supporting continued library programs and services to the community.
Creators of the winning tree or wreath will receive a generous gift certificate donated by Togo’s, Marquette’s Original Submarine Sandwich shop. The prize winner will be announced on January 6, 2017.
