Marquette – “Our Quilting Legacy: Why Quilts Matter” will be presented on Thursday, November 3 from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at the Marquette Regional History Center on W. Spring Street in Marquette.
Join the staff at the Museum for a special program and explore the Museum’s extensive quilt collection. Funded by a grant from the Michigan Quilt Network, work was just completed to photograph, extensively document and store each of the Museum’s quilts. Alice Johnson and Nancy Henderson are the presenters and you will learn how many local women from prominent Marquette families contributed to the Museum’s collection of quilts and why it’s important that we preserve this important part of our history.
A $5 donation is suggested. For more information, call 226-3571 or visit marquettehistory.org.
