Marquette, Michigan – October 12, 2016 – Media are invited to cover an event at Northern Michigan University on Friday, Oct. 14, that will introduce high school students to the quality undergraduate experiences in scholarly training (QUEST) available at NMU.
Students will spend the morning learning about ceramic sculpting and film making; fish biology and sustainability; computer science and technology; biology and health sciences; and social science and social interactions. Volunteer faculty who work and research in these areas will lead conversations. After a morning of interactive presentations, students will tour one of several facilities on campus, including the U.P. Brain Tumor Center, the Computer Cluster Center, the hypoxic chamber, the nurse simulation lab, outdoor learning area and the chemistry lab.
This event not only highlights the opportunities on campus but also the success that awaits after graduate. The morning interactive presentations will follow, with tours closing out the day from 12:45-2 p.m.
