Calendar – Community – Make A Difference Day – Oct. 22

Everywhere – Make A Difference Day will be held on Saturday, October 22 across the nation.
Make a Difference Day is the most encompassing national day of helping others – a celebration of neighbors helping neighbors. Everyone can participate.

The Northern Michigan University Volunteer Center is coordinating the event locally. Volunteers assist local seniors with outdoor tasks such as raking and other yard work, washing windows and routine fall maintenance.

It is estimated that roughly 1,000 volunteers will participate to assist residents at 243 service locations. The NMU students and community volunteers will check in, receive t-shirts and eat breakfast at NMU’s University Center from 8 to 10 a.m. Saturday before heading to their assigned locations.

For more information, contact the NMU Volunteer Center at 227-2466.
