Marquette – The Marquette Regional History Center will host “Sisu Stories” on Wednesday, September 14 from 2 to 8 p.m. at the Marquette Regional History Center, 145 W. Spring Street in Marquette.
The History Center has been awarded the Common Heritage grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities, one of 38 in the country. The goal of this grant is to bring historical records and artifacts currently hidden in family attics and basements across the country and make them digitally available to the wider public and for posterity.
The community is invited to help document the U.P.’s past by allowing their family heirlooms to be digitized for the world to see. Participants will be given a digital copy of their contribution, and a copy will be stored in the new digital repository at the Marquette Regional History Center.
