Munising – Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore will offer “The Friendly Stars,” on Thursday, August 4 at 7 p.m. at Sand Point Beach in the National Lakeshore in Munising.
This is a family program about stargazing. You don’t need a dark sky to enjoy the pleasures of stargazing with this program led by park ranger Andrea Chynoweth. Participants will learn the common summer constellations and get acquainted with the evening sky through stories, poems, and fun activities.
The program will prepare families for actual stargazing on their own when it’s dark. Star charts and red flashlight covers provided. The program will take place out on the beach so bring a blanket.
