Marquette – Tombstone Detectives, a family friendly walking tour led by the Marquette Regional History Center, will be held on Tuesday, August 23 from 1 to 3 p.m. beginning at the main gate of Park Cemetery in Marquette.
This walking tour, designed for all ages, will include stories of every day and exceptional characters in U.P. history who are buried in Park Cemetery. These people have many fascinating tales to tell, some will “come alive” to share theirs. Meet a Civil War veteran, a Marquette pioneer girl, a ship captain and a young artist. Enjoy this active walk throughout the cemetery; try some tombstone rubbings and investigate symbols and clues.
