Marquette – Jim LaJoie, local author of “No One Would Listen,” will discuss his book and the issue of bullying on Thursday, May 26 from 6 to 9 p.m. in the Community Room at the Great Lakes Recovery Centers Adolescent Services Center, 104 Malton Road in Negaunee.
“No One Would Listen” tells the story of an innocent teenager who is the unfortunate victim of horrendous bullying. It offers a real, first-hand look at what it feels like to be a target of bullies and the pain and anguish that occurs inside. LaJoie touches on the relevant yet unanswered questions which cloud the issue of bullying in school.
Light refreshments and informational networking will begin at 6 p.m. Linda Remsburg, from the Great Lakes Center for Youth Development will be there to share information and statistics about bullying. Following Remsburg, LaJoie will further discuss his book as well as hold a book signing. Books will be available to purchase and LaJoie will be donating 25% of his sales to Great Lakes Recovery Centers Adolescent Programming. The event is free and open to the public.
