Marquette – The community is invited to an artists reception for “Lines That Heal: Art in Recovery from Mental Illness” on Thursday, May 5 from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Huron Mountain Club Gallery at the Peter White Public Library.
This visual art exhibit highlights the work of people who have a mental illness and use art as a form of therapy as an aid to coping
with their symptoms. The exhibit features the work of five artists in a variety of media from painting to photography and will be available for viewing during regular library hours.
Refreshments will be provided by the members of the Alger/Marquette Chapter of the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI). There is no admission charge to attend this event which is part of Your Mind Matters, a community dialog on mental health issues sponsored by a coalition of community groups and the Peter White Public Library.
