Marquette – The Northern Michigan University Foundation invites campus and community members to the grand opening of the Beaumier Alumni Welcome and U.P. Heritage Center on Thursday, April 28 beginning at 4 p.m. at the center on the corner of Seventh and Lee Streets in Marquette.
The event will include a ribbon cutting at 5 p.m. It will mark the official opening of the center and honor Dr. John Beaumier, whose $1 million gift to the NMU Foundation helped to make the project possible.
Beaumier is tentatively scheduled to give remarks, along with NMU President Fritz Erickson and NMU Foundation Board of Trustees President Mark Pynnonen. The U.P. Heritage Center will premier its new exhibit, “Made in the U.P.,” and refreshments will be provided. Please RSVP to foundtn@nmu.edu.
