Marquette, Michigan – November 2, 2105 – The Upper Peninsula has been visited by some fabulous (and infamous) characters: sixteen presidents, politicians, movie and sports stars, entertainers, royalty, scoundrels, and other celebrities. A dozen of them will be featured at Larry Chabot’s talk “Guess Who I Saw” at the Marquette Regional History Center on Wednesday, November 4 at 7:00 p.m.
You will hear of the foreign visitor who broke into tears when he saw the names of so many of his countrymen on U.P. mailboxes, of the world-famous labor leader who showed up at a doctor’s cottage with a fishhook in his eyelid, and a notorious gangster who was spotted in over a dozen places on his mad dash across the U.P. $5 suggested donation.
