Marquette – The PWPL Friends and Room at the Inn are joining forces to host the Marquette movie premiere of the new Richard Gere film “Time Out of Mind” on Thursday, November 5 at 6:30 pm in the Community Room of the Peter White Public Library.
In this powerful and haunting drama, Gere stars as George, a homeless man in New York City who has been unable to hold down a job for years. He drifts about the city and seeks shelter at Bellevue Hospital, a
Manhattan intake center for homeless men, where his friendship with a fellow client, played by Ben Vereen, helps George try to repair his relationship with his estranged daughter, played by Jena Malone.
In support of November as National Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Month, the screening has been made possible by special arrangement with IFC Films, the film’s distributor. The 2015 film is not rated
but contains adult themes. Parental discretion is advised.
Douglas Russell, Executive Director of Room at the Inn, will introduce the film and lead a discussion after the screening. There is no admission charge to attend the event, but donations of non-perishable food items to benefit the TV6 Canathon will be gratefully accepted.
