From: http://ishpemingrenfest.webs.com/

Ishpeming, Michigan –  This is the Sixteenth Annual Ishpeming Renaissance Festival. A one day event to be held this year on August 1, 2015, from 10 am to 7 pm. Last year’s event included up to 75 art and craft booths, 8 theme related merchants, 6 food vendors. Along with a children’s activity area (Kids Castle) and a broad variety of entertainment including dancers, musicians, singers, swordsman and games from the Renaissance period. Five different musical groups performed throughout the day. This energetic annual event attracts a large number of people of all ages and historically attracted a great number of families. Each year it increases in popularity, and we expect upwards of 2,500 people this year.

Bancroft Park, along with the adjacent Cliff Shaft Mining Museum property in Ishpeming provides a beautiful setting along Lake Bancroft. The city of Ishpeming has been generous and increasingly supportive of this event, along with individual donations from sponsoring businesses. The day is filled with unique entertainment provided by quality art booths, authentic period performers, a variety of food and beverage vendors and costumes inspired by historical culture.
