Snail Shell Harbor Dock In Delta County Temporarily Closed For Repairs

Snail Shell Harbor dock temporarily closed for repairs

The Michigan Department of Natural Resources today announced that the Snail Shell Harbor dock at Fayette Historic State Park (Delta County) has been closed temporarily for repairs. The dock was damaged over the winter and repairs are needed so it is safe for public use.

DNR staff currently does not have an estimated repair date, but an announcement will be made via news release and email to subscribers of Michigan DNR boating updates. Visit www.michigan.gov/boating to sign up for updates.

The dock at Snail Shell Harbor was scheduled to be replaced during the 2015 boating season, but due to unforeseen delays in the development process the replacement has been delayed until spring/summer 2016.

During the Snail Shell Harbor dock closure, boaters may consider using:

• Cedar River State Harbor, 906-863-9747
• Manistique Marina: 906-341-6841

As always, Snail Shell Harbor is a harbor of safe refuge and will be available for boat anchorage throughout the 2015 and 2016 seasons.
