Bell Women’s Expo Set For Saturday, May 16th

ISHPEMING – The seventh annual Women’s Health Expo is slated from 8 am to noon Saturday at UP Health System – Bell in Ishpeming.

As in previous years, the Expo will focus on a day of pampering and health awareness. In addition to several physician presentations, health screenings, massages and manicures, demonstrations, several display and vendors booths, along with drawing and prizes will be featured. Expert speaker topics ranging from mental health to varicose vein disease are among the highlights of the event.

This year’s Expo presenters and topics include:

  • 9:00 am – Dr. Shawna Gleason, Family Practice

The Importance of Mental Health in Overall Health

  • 9:45 am – Brett Peterson, RD

Eating Health on the Run

  • 10 am – Dr. Kelly Menge, OB/GYN

Treatment of Menopause Symptoms

  • 10:45 am – Dr. Niksa Vlasic, Interventional Radiologist

Varicose Vein Disease/Leg Pain

  • 11 am – Dr. Gina Sternschuss, UroGynecologist

Pelvic Pain/Fibroids

Health screenings and tours will include: breast exams/risk screens; Breast Center tours Q&A; MRI information and Q&A; Ultrasound (breast / vascular) tours; blood pressure/height/weight; and posture screening. UP Health System booths will include Bariatric Surgery, Heart Center and Cancer Center.
