Mobile Food Pantry Available in Negaunee May 19th

Negaunee, Michigan (Radio) – Negaunee High School and Feeding America West Michigan Food Bank are working together to bring a mobile food pantry to Negaunee on May 19 at 5 p.m. at Negaunee High School, 500 W. Arch Street. It is hoped this will be a regularly occurring opportunity.

“We know there are people in need in our community, and we’re happy to help our neighbors in any way we can,” said Mark Marana, Negaunee High School Principal.

The food pantry will be available with no questions asked. Negaunee High School athletes and coaches will be on hand to help distribute food.

There will be 15,000 pounds of food available delivered in a refrigerated truck. The food should serve up to 300 families, and will be available on a first-come first-serve basis. Boxes and grocery bags will be available, but please bring a box or container to carry the food if you are able.

To volunteer at the mobile food pantry, or to learn more about the event, contact Mark Marana at 906-475-7861. Tentatively the next planned mobile food pantry will be mid-to-late September.
