Calendar – Music – Marquette City Band Concert – Apr. 26

Marquette – The Marquette City Band will offer “An Old-Fashioned Sousa Concert – More Than Marches” on Sunday, April 26 at 3 p.m. in Reynolds Recital Hall at NMU.

Although John Philip Sousa is known worldwide as “The March King,” he also composed many other different types of music in his impressive career—including dances, novelty pieces, folk music suites and even operas. This concert will be reminiscent of what Sousa would have played with his own band as it traveled all across the U.S. and toured Europe a hundred years ago.

There is a suggested donation of $5 for this concert.
