DNR Shooting Ranges
The weather this weekend will feel like a heat wave with temperatures around 40 degrees, so get out to the DNR Shooting Ranges to target shoot. The Ortonville and Pontiac Lake ranges are open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The Rose Lake and Sharonville ranges are open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The last shot is fired at 4:45 p.m.
Check online and see if you were successful in getting a spring turkey license. If not, Hunt 0234 licenses may be purchased without an application beginning March 16 at 10 a.m. EDT. See the 2015 Spring Turkey Digest for more details.
You can purchase hunting and fishing licenses online 24-hours a day or make a campground reservation six months in advance at Michigan’s 102 state parks and recreation areas at www.midnrreservations.com. For updated information about the DNR shooting ranges, visit the DNR shooting range webpage at www.michigan.gov/shootingranges.
