Marquette – The Fred Waara Chapter of Trout Unlimited will host a “Fishing After Hours” on Wednesday, November 5 at 6:30 p.m. in the Board Room at The Landmark Inn, Marquette.
The speaker will be Dr. Casey Huckins, biology professor at Michigan Technological University and aquatic ecologist. Dr. Huckins’ presentation, “Coaster Brook Trout Ecology and Habitat Restoration in the Salmon Trout River”, will provide a brief overview of coaster history and ecology based on MTU’s long-term research program in the region. He will also discuss the unique approach they are taking to restore spawning habitat degraded by sand aggradation from watershed disturbance.
All who are interested in cold water fisheries and conservation are invited to attend.
