Marquette – Schizophrenics Anonymous and the Peter White Public Library present a screening of “Hidden Pictures: A Personal Journey into Global Mental Health,” on Wednesday, October 22 at 7 p.m. in the library’s Community Room.
The film is a documentary by award-winning filmmaker and primary care doctor, Delaney Rushton. Prior to the film, Margery Pearce Wakefield, a native of Lake Linden who has been diagnosed with schizoaffective disorder, will give a brief talk by video conference about her life-long struggle with schizophrenia and her successful pursuit of a Master’s Degree in Social Work.
Refreshments will be served at the event which is being held in
recognition of Mental Illness Awareness Week. An informal panel of mental health professionals will also be available after the screening to answer questions about schizophrenia and related disorders.
