Marquette – Readers Theater will meet for a reading of “She Stoops to Conquer” by William Goldsmith on Thursday, September 18 at 7 p.m. in the Shiras Room of the Peter White Public Library.
This comedy by Irish author Oliver Goldsmith was first performed in London in 1773 and continues to be a favorite for study by English literature and theater classes. This romantic, lighthearted farce derives its charm from the misunderstandings which entangle the well-drawn characters.
Readers Theater is a group of adults, who are interested in drama and are willing and able to read a scripted role. They meet on the third Thursday of each month to read plays for enjoyment. New readers are always welcome.
