FREE Diabetes Workshop September

IRON MOUNTAIN, MICHIGAN – A Diabetes self-management workshop is being offered at Iron Mountain’s Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church beginning on September 9th. The Diabetes –PATH (Personal Action Towards Health) workshop is a six week workshop designed to provide the skills and tools needed by people living with Type 2 diabetes to improve their health and manage their symptoms. As a result, participants are better equipped to face the daily challenge of living with diabetes. Two trained leaders conduct the workshop (one or both also live with diabetes). Subjects covered include: symptoms of diabetes, stress, managing fatigue and emotional problems, exercise, healthy eating, medications, and working with health care providers.

The six week class will meet on Tuesday mornings, from 5:30-8:00 p.m. beginning on September 9th and ending October 14th. Class sizes are limited and pre registration is required- family and caregivers are welcome. There is no cost to attend. Please call 1-800-338-7227 or dial 2-1-1 to register. Program administered by UPCAP, with support from the Manistique Senior Center and community volunteers. For more information, visit www.upcap.org.
