MARQUETTE, MI – Peter White Public Library invites film fans to a BYO Dinner Theater event on Thursday, September 11 at 5:30 pm to enjoy a screening of “Philomena” in the library’s Community room.
Based on the book, “The Lost Child of Philomena Lee” by Martin Sixsmith, the film is the true story of a burnt out political journalist who picks up the story of an elderly woman’s search for her son. The child was taken away from her decades earlier after she became pregnant as a teenager and was forced to live in a convent.
Starring Judi Dench and Steve Coogan, “Philomena was nominated for 4 Academy Awards and 3 Golden Globe Awards, released in 2013, rated PG-13 and runs for 98 minutes.
BYO Dinner Theater welcomes the public to bring their own takeout supper and enjoy a feature film, in a dinner theater setting. There is no admission charge thanks to sponsorship by the Friends of the Peter White Public Library. For more information visit www.pwpl.info or call 226-4318.
