MARQUETTE, MICHIGAN – Afternoon Classic Films presents an all ages screening of “The Music Man” starring Robert Preston, Shirley Jones and Buddy Hackett on Monday, August 4 at 1:30 pm in the Peter White Public Library Community Room.
Based on the Broadway hit musical, a con man, Harold Hill, comes to a Midwestern town with a scam using a boy’s marching band program, but things go awry when he falls for a librarian he tries to divert from exposing his scheme, while inadvertently, enriching the town with a love of music.
Released in 1962, this Best Musical Academy Award winner, is shown in color and runs for 151 minutes.
