The Transition Marquette County Reading Group will have a conversation about the book “Paradise Lot – Two Plant Geeks, One-Tenth of an Acre, and the Making of an Edible Garden Oasis in the City”, on Thursday, June 12, at 7pm in the Conference Room at Peter White Public Library in Marquette. Paradise Lot is a funny and charming story of two single guys, both plant nerds, with a wild plan: to realize the urban permaculture garden of their dreams and meet women to share it with. Amazingly, on both counts, they succeed. It is the story of how they bought a duplex in the city on a tenth-of-an-acre lot and in several years turned it into a permaculture paradise replete with more than two hundred low-maintenance edible plants in an innovative food forest on a small city lot.
Anyone is welcome to join the conversation. It would help to have at least started to read the book. For more information call 226-3314 or email mqtchaz@gmail.com.
