Negaunee City Band Begins Its Free Summer Concert Series on Wednesday, June 11

NEGAUNEE, MICHIGAN – The Negaunee City Band begins its free summer concert series on Wednesday, June 11, at 7:30 p.m. at the Outdoor Performing Arts Center at the east end of Iron Street. The band will play weekly though August 6, with all concerts scheduled for Wednesday evenings. Some seating is available, but attendees may wish to bring their own chairs.

The band will also participate in a number of parades, including the Memorial Day Parade on May 26 and the Firemen’s Memorial March on June 1, both in Negaunee. The band will march in Negaunee’s Pioneer Days Parade on July 12 and in Ishpeming’s Independence Day Parade and the Gwinn Fun Daze Parade on July 26. The latter appearance will also include a concert. They also plan to participate in the Firemen’s Tournament Parade at Quinnesec on July 24.

Plans are also being formulated for a joint concert with the Marquette City Band and a Festival Concert Band to be held at the Presque Isle Band Shell at 7 p.m. on Saturday, August 9.
